Tony Burgess

Stand-up comedian and writer who has worked on various sitcoms such as the award winning BBC 3 comedy Ideal (where he also played Troy, a mad DJ who lived in the airing cupboard). He has been called ‘The Clown Prince of Manchester Scallies’. His barbed wit and daring approach keeps his audiences on their toes as he challenges them, whilst still managing to allure them into loving him. Tony has also written for wide variety of comedians including Steve Coogan and Johnny Vegas. 'Always clever, often hilarious' (The Scotsman). 'A demon set and staggering stage presence...' Tony Cowards is a quickfire joke teller (described by the List magazine as a 'Pun-osaurus') whose one-liners cover a wide spectrum of subjects, his quick wit has made him sought after by comedy promoters all around the UK both as an act and as a compere.
