About The Pogues

By demonstrating that the spirit of punk could live in traditional Irish folk music, the Pogues were one of the most radical bands of the mid-80s. Famed for their wild and exciting live acts, lead singer Shane MacGowan's relentless drug and alcohol abuse meant the cult Irish folk punksters were forced to disband in the mid 90s. They reunited in 2001 and performed across the world on and off until 2014 when they took another hiatus.

Following the death of Shane MacGowan in 2023, the surviving members reunited for a handful of tribute shows before announcing in late 2024 that they would head out on tour again with original members James Fearnley, Jem Finer, and Spider Stacy along with special guests.
