From Recife in North East Brazil, Nacao Zumbi strip samba back to its bones, mix in Augustus Pablo style melodica, rock-funk guitar and out on the edge rapping in Portuguese and English. After surviving the shock of their founder Chico Science's death, they have continued to produce new work of equal potency with a sound that is a hybrid of maracatu, afro-beat, coco dub and funk.
