A mysterious caped visitor arrived at the Mozarts' house, and without revealing who he was, nor for whom he was working, asked Mozart to take a commission to write a Requiem - Mozart accepted, but died before he had completed the work, fearing that he was in fact writing his own Requiem! This wonderful piece, completed by Süssmayr, has entranced audiences down the generations and inspired many writers and film-makers. Coupled with an early cantata by JS Bach with clean lines, beautiful instrumental and vocal combinations, and displaying deep passion and deeply held conviction, it is one of Bach's most powerful cantatas.
