A rare concert featuring duo and solo performances by Ursula Leveaux (classical and baroque bassoon) and Karen Tweed (Celtic and Scandinavian piano accordion). Two musical friends of long-standing who live a long way apart and are getting together for a bit of fun and great music.

Karen Tweed

The most sought after piano accordion player in the country, Karen is described as mercurial, subtle and astounding. Her travels uncovered a love of Scandinavian music and the traditions found in the northern hemisphere which she continues to thread into her love of traditional Irish music and the music of the British Isles. She is currently exploring composition, connecting the creative energies of drawing, woodcarving, stonecarving, calligraphy, knitting and weaving with her music writing. She has worked with The Poozies, Kathryn Tickell, The Two Duos Quartet and SWAP.
