Join two of Bristol’s longest running and best loved live events, Milk Poetry and Chuckle Busters, for a special Easter showcase headlined by the legendary John Hegley

Kid Carpet
Bristol legend Kid Carpet is a champion of the lost and broken. An advocate for silliness, social change and for doing things differently. Like a weird mix of Ivor Cutler, Gorillaz and The Fall, his sets are a ridiculous shamanic experience with a big heart and big beats, a punk rock attitude and battery operated wonky wisdom.

George Chopping
George Chopping lives in Cornwall with his wife Rachel and his cat Badger. He currently works as a groundskeeper, and has been employed by Sainsbury’s as a shelf replenishment technician, by the Savoy Hotel as a commis waiter and by the Royal family as a footman. But his first job was doing a paper round for Mrs Munro for 6 years (1990-1996).

John Hegley

Poet, comic, singer, songwriter and glasses-wearer. John Hegley captivates audiences with travel tales and amusing anecdotes, blurring the line between profound description and fine comedy. A consistent favourite at the Edinburgh Festival and with over half a dozen bestselling books under his belt, he is not to be missed. 'Awesomely mundane... Comedy's Poet Laureate' (The Independent) 'Scandalously talented' (Sunday Times) 'Bl**ding marvellous' (NME) 'Marvellous, joyful fun' (The Daily Telegraph) 'An incurable entertainer' (The Guardian).

Kid Carpet

Kid Carpet is Bristol's one-man electronic band, playing broken-hearted modern music, with wit and style (and a few props). Live he plays an electro-pop cover of Van Halen's 'Jump' that features voice samples from Ivor Cutler. And his single 'Sh*t Dope' samples the '80s Children's TV programme Choc-a-bloc. Expect dodgy samples, carboot sale keyboards, kids toys, plastic guitar solos, dodgy singing, pathos aplenty and sellotape. After releasing three albums and performing both nationally and internationally, Kid Carpet begun performing theatre shows for children and composing music for others.
