The acclaimed seventeen piece returns to the Guildhall with a special afternoon concert. Featuring the evergreen arrangements and songs which helped to boost morale during the war years, the packed two-set programme remembers the Glenn Miller classics, Vera Lynn, The Andrew Sisters and much more.
A.J.'s Big Band, now celebrating forty three years of performing across the region and beyond, has its usual impressive line-up of top musicians led by saxophonist Ken Parr. Singer Jaqs Price-Hughes brings her stunning vocal style to the performance, making this an unmissable and nostalgic musical treat.
AJ's Big Band
This highly acclaimed 17 piece band has built an enviable reputation for its authentic recreation of the big band classics of the '30s and '40s and is undoubtedly the South West's premier swing band. Since its inception in 1983 by the late Alan (A.J.) Hempstead, the band continues to sustain a high reputation, blending great ensemble work with exciting jazz solos.
